New trainees welcomed
At the beginning of August, two young women and eleven young men started their apprenticeships at Clausthal University of Technology. They are being trained in seven different professions.
In compliance with hygiene rules, the trainees - 13 in total - were welcomed in the Audimax of Clausthal University of Technology. In keeping with coronavirus times, they were presented with a mouth and nose cover with the university logo as a small welcome gift.
"You are facing a new chapter in your lives after leaving school. I wish you a good start and I am sure that you will quickly get used to Clausthal University of Technology. Because our university is a great employer," said Thomas Bravin, who welcomed the trainees on behalf of the Staff Council.
Gesine Redecker, who is responsible for trainees in the HR department, then gave a general introduction to Clausthal University of Technology and went on to talk specifically about training. As the largest training center in the region, the university offers up to 100 apprenticeships. Around 70 of these are currently filled, spread across 23 institutions at Clausthal University of Technology. A total of 30 employees are involved as trainers.
Of the new trainees, three are being trained as IT specialists in application development, plus one IT specialist for system integration. One duo each will complete their apprenticeships as precision mechanics, electronics technicians for devices and systems and chemical laboratory technicians.
