Tasks of the JAV

The youth and trainee representatives (JAV) represent young people under the age of 18 and those employed in vocational training (trainees) in a company. The JAV actively represents your interests and can be contacted via an e-mail distribution list(jav@personalrat.tu-clausthal.de). You are welcome to contact us if you have any questions or concerns!

Our tasks include:

Legal mandate: The JAV provides information on its legal duties in accordance with the Lower Saxony Staff Representation Act (NPersVG). This law regulates the co-determination rights of employees in the public sector and ensures that their interests are adequately taken into account. The JAV represents the interests of trainees and ensures that their rights are safeguarded. In the NPersVG, the tasks of the JAV are defined in § 54.

§ Section 54 (para. 1, p. 3): The JAV has the right to receive suggestions and complaints from employees and, if they appear justified, to work towards their resolution by negotiating with the department.

Committee work: We work closely with other committees (= cooperation of several people in a group) to represent the interests of trainees. This includes regular attendance at staff council meetings (PR meetings), where we represent your concerns and interests. We are committed to ensuring that your voice is heard and that you can enjoy the best possible training.

Contactability: We are available for all your concerns and help wherever we can. Whether it's questions about training, problems at work or personal concerns - we are there to help you.
