Inga - 1st year of apprenticeship
Training as an administrative assistant at Clausthal University of Technology is very varied, as you get to know a large number of different departments. In addition, there is also external training in another authority. Accordingly, the tasks are very varied. During my training, I was already in the Department of Budget and Finance. There I was given an introduction to the budget, checked invoices and where-used lists and dealt with procurement matters.
At the moment, I'm in HR Administration, where I process recruitment applications for student assistants, among other things. In this regard, I am available to the secretariats as a contact person for questions. In the next few years of my training, I will be working in the Study Center, in IT, in the legal department and in the secretarial department.
There is a very pleasant working atmosphere at Clausthal University of Technology with very helpful colleagues. As a trainee, you are quickly given the opportunity to work on tasks independently.
In general, the training is extremely varied and no two days are the same. I decided to train as an administrative assistant because I find dealing with laws very exciting and enjoy working with people. There are also good opportunities for further training, such as the second course for employees or a subsequent degree course.
